We had a busy day today because it was actually warm and sunny and dry. So, we spent a lot of time on the beach…

We weren’t mad enought to join these people, though…

So, we spent much the afternoon doing this…

No reading got done today, but I am hoping to finish The Enlightenment of the Greengage Tree this evening. I’m not enjoying the book, but I want to get it finished.
There will be more excitement tomorrow as I will leave Andy with a dog sitter for the first time. Just for a few hours, but now seems a good time to get him used to staying at a sitter’s for when I have to travel with work etc.
The plan is that while he is with the sitter, I will get to explore one of the big houses owned by the National Trust. I have often seen it from the outside, but have never been inside as I have always had Andy with me. I’m really excited.
I hope your dog sitter was a great one so you can spend more time exploring and feel good about leaving them when you travel for work. We have a fantastic cat sitter for when we go on vacation. I realize cats don’t need that much care but they do like attention and our cat needs medication which she gives. So how was the big house you visited?

Are dog sitters certified? Or are they like babysitters, where you just randomly pick someone and hope they don’t kidnap little Susy and hold her for ransom?

You get both. There is an App here called Rover that acts as a sort of agency, but whether you insist on certs and insurance is up to you.
The sitter I found comes recommended by friends, so I am not all that concerned.
