My next random card draw brought me:
♦︎ 4 | Where There’s a Will… | Cyril Hare | The Best Detective Stories |
I really enjoy Cyril Hare’s stories, so when I drew this week’s card I immediately got excited.
This story does not feature any grisly murders but has a couple of really nice twists and, as usual for Hare, some underlying legal detail that just makes his stories so interesting for me. Well, it’s the quirky legal details and Hare’s sense of humour that makes the stories for me, along with some real sympathy for his characters. The same applies to this story, I did not feel sorry for the protagonist, but I felt that he was a little hard done by at one point in the story, but that was before the moral of the story comes into play.
So do you have a literal card of decks to draw from or is someone drawing cards virtually?

I have an actual deck of cards. Also, I did not pick out the jokers, so if I draw any of them I will read whatever story I fancy.

That’s cool. I hope you don’t lose the deck 😀

Ha! Slim chance. They are on my bedside table as I tend to keep the short stories for bedtime.
