I concur with Aoife, The Black Count is great read.

The Black Count was so fascinating! (But did occasionally try to hide the fact that there isn’t much material about some parts of Dumas’ life with extensive infodumps on French society etc. at the time)

Ah, I’m ok with that when the author doesn’t try to use it to cover up the lack of available info or where there is a specific purpose for it. I’ll be curious to what Reiss does with it. I’ve heard so many great things about this book. 🙂
