Review:
More TBR busting:
This was fun. What’s even better is that the fun does not get in the way of imparting some very wise words to its young readership about reading history books and historical sources.
The Celts had an oral tradition, and much of what is known about the Celts from early sources was written by the Romans – who lacked understanding of the Celts, and what is more, tended to be at war with the Celts. This is to say, the early Roman sources may be biased or exaggerating.
I have not been a fan of all of the Deary’s writing. Some books in the series seemed overly patronising or leaning towards a particular agenda in my estimation, but this one was a fun, educational, and worthwhile read.

I have (had?) one from this series about chemistry that was quite fun. And the songs from the TV-Show are definitely catchy *g*

Some are really good fun, some … not so much. I think it was The Vile Victorians that spoiled the series for me a bit. This one was a fun one, tho.
